Using burn-in and test sockets to address issues in product assessment,
electrical properties, and reliability testing of various devices.

Terminology

Test socket

A test socket, similar to a burn-in socket, is used for pre-shipment functional evaluation of electronic packages. However, unlike burn-in sockets, which are used for extended testing at elevated temperatures to simulate long-term operation, test sockets typically operate in environments close to room temperature. The assessments conducted with test sockets are momentary, focusing on immediate functionality checks rather than long-term reliability testing. This makes test sockets essential for ensuring the quality and performance of electronic components before they are shipped and deployed in various applications.
